It makes a perfect location for whale watching so pack a picnic blanket and grab a coffee and watch the day go by from this beautiful lookout.

Whale Watching

Whale watching season is here with the gentle giants of the sea travelling along the Tweed Coast. Each year an expected 30,000 humpback whales make their migration north to warmer waters to mate. From June to November, you will spot whales on their journey up and down the East coast of Australia. Late October to November is the best time of the whale watching season to see mothers and calves. Book your whale watching tour with Cooly Eco Adventures, Tweed Gold Coast Dive Charter and Water Sports Guru.

The headland is covered in tropical palm trees, native paper daisies and overlooks cook island making it a great location to watch the sunrise or sunset. The headland is made from basalt rock formations that were formed by ancient lava flow which creates a dramatic causeway which is a truly spectacular sight!
