Absolutely loved every minute of the Tweed River
Absolutely loved every minute of the Tweed River houseboat experience. The month of June is the best time. Not hot, not cold (although some would disagree) but remember no heating nor cooling on a boat. BONUS: No flies around meals upstairs. And no mozzie or midgies. I hired 12 berth Kalinda with 5 guests and that was super comfortable. The Berger team are fantastic; Robert, Pete, Ian, Barry, the domestic staff, Rachel is an absolute hoot, she kept me sane with all the logistics and Sue Ellen the matriarch of it all. You guys run a tight ship. I love the Tweed Shire. And bonus, got to head into Cooly Rocks On our first night there after opting to stay on the marina. Rock on Berger Houseboats!!

Highly recommend for those wanting a relaxing break
We had the best holiday onboard one of the pet friendly boats. The boat itself was well equipped and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate doing it again. Highly recommend for those wanting a relaxing break.

If I could give them more stars I would! We had an absolutely wonderful time on our houseboat - it was clean, cosy and comfortable, everything worked well. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and supported on our first houseboat cruise! Thank you all so much! Looking forward to our next one already!

Highly recommend!
We just had a fantastic long weekend on the Marie Claire! A big thank you to the crew at Berger Houseboats for our amazing experience! The boat was prepared perfectly, ready for our departure. I recommend hiring a motorised tender! This enabled us to have a lunch at the Tumbulgum Tavern, which was just lovely! We love the Tweed River! This was our 2nd visit using Berger Houseboats and we will be back again! Highly recommend!

Good old fashioned service
We hired the Blue Bayou from Berger Houseboats for 5 days. It was an amazing experience from go to whoa. Firstly, the customer service was second to none. This is a family business that provides good old fashioned service, on the phone, by email and in person. Quick to respond, explained everything and happy to help solve any issue or query you might have. A can-do attitude, which is rare nowadays.
Our houseboat was fabulous! Clean, spacious, and reliable. The staff will help and explain everything you need to know. Driving a houseboat is not difficult once you get the hang of the steering.
My advice, is don't just park it up on the river but take it as far along as you can. The trip is so peaceful, scenic and was genuinely relaxing and totally recharged our batteries. We swam, fished, lazed about and took the tender ashore to explore the small townships.
The whole experience was better than expected and we all agreed to rebook again. Thank you to the Berger Houseboats Team. Awesome!

We just spent a night with friends on their hired houseboat... It was way better than the hotel we'd stayed at the previous night. We'll definitely be keeping this at the top of our list for next time we're planning a holiday.

Most relaxing week EVER!
We spent one week on the Tweed after booking over the phone with Rachel. She, and the entire Berger Team, made everything a breeze. All we had to do was board and enjoy. Complete with our four legged friend, we loved every minute. Can’t wait to book our next adventure already.

I cannot recommend it enough!
We loved our stay with Berger houseboats. We stayed on the lovely Wavebreak. I cannot recommend it enough! It was great to be able to anchor where you want; we stayed around Chinderah, there was a great tavern and a funky cafe we loved getting coffee from.The staff were amazing, especially Ian who showed us around and went out of his way to make our stay amazing! Thanks guys. We will be back 🙂

A softly swinging hammock
Absolutely loved our week long trip aboard the Marie Claire. What a beautiful, natural part of the world & it felt like we had it entirely to ourselves. Highly recommend if you need to unwind, kick back and immerse yourself in nature. Like being aboard a softly swinging hammock! Even our dog loved it! Berger were really communicative and helpful too, loved the whole experience & will def do it again one day! Amazing.

It was our 5th time on these houseboats, they are just great value if you enjoy fishing, relaxing, the occasional beverage & anything in water. The crew that run the business couldn’t do enough for you & they're only a phone call away if you run into any problems. We’ll be back again & again great way to recharge the batteries.

Highly recommend, we will definitely do this again
We hired a 12 person bbq boat for the day and had a blast. More than enough room for everyone, great facilities and the staff at Berger Houseboats were fabulous to deal with, from the initial booking and questions, to the end of the day. We cruised up and down the river, making a few stops, fished, swam and had a very enjoyable day. Highly recommend, we will definitely do this again.

One of the best holidays of our lives
Hired Runaway Bear for the week with my hubby - best decision in a long time! It was such a wonderfully relaxing way to spend the time. Beautiful scenery and lots of good fishing. Excellent set up of the houseboat - perfect for two of us. We were complete noobs (never piloted any kind of watercraft in our lives!) but Ian was an excellent instructor and so patient. A massive thanks to Sue Ellen & Rob and the team, for everything you do to have made this one of the best holidays of our lives. I highly recommend! (We've already booked our next stay 😉 )

Well Done Guys!!!
What an amazing trip on the Tweed River in a houseboat- we would recommend to everyone. Amazing views, a very beautiful river- you go under some bridges which I thought was pretty cool. We didn't do any fishing but next time for sure, as the fish were jumping out of the water as we were cruising along. You can stop up the river to have lunch, buy a top up of food if needed, and the team at Berger Houseboats are a wonderful team, and are on call 24/7.
