About Us
Rob & Sue Ellen – Owners
Both being part of multiple generation local families, our “bosses” are big on family and most days it seems like “everybody” knows us. Even the boats are considered members of the family – and, as with every family, some are higher maintenance than others. Due to Rob’s deteriorating health, he is unable to play a physical part in the business any longer, though he keeps a tight reign on everything and the family report to him frequently.
Sue Ellen has an accounting background and certainly needed to learn how to write letters to guests rather than the Tax Office, the approach is totally different and much more exciting. Now days, the experience with government departments is coming in handy dealing with the ever-increasing licencing/survey requirements.
Having operated on the Tweed since 1994, it is safe to say Rob & Sue Ellen have established a business that is now ingrained as a part of the region and has its’ place in the area history.

Operations Manager
Ian (the eldest son) is our marina operations manager who co-ordinates not only our "turn-around" team, but maintenance and repairs as well. Previously, Ian was working for Riveria building luxury boats, until we head hunted him in 2007 when our business had grown enough to offer him a full-time position. Ian has learnt to turn his hand to almost anything and his skill set, and experience have been invaluable in the operation of our business.

Admin Manager
Amy (Ian's wife) is an integral part of not only the administrative side of our business but marina operations as well. Previously Amy dealt mainly with enquiries, bookings and customer service dabbling in marketing, particularly our electronic media such as Facebook and Instagram. Now she has moved to spend more time preparing for and greeting our guests and you will frequently meet her at the marina when boarding. When Amy isn’t at the marina, she is busy focusing on marketing and promotions. If you would like any of your special photos to be used, be sure to pass them onto Amy as she loves to share your happy memories on social media. When you sign up to receive special offers from us, you'll be sure to hear from Amy.

Maintenance Officer
Peter (the youngest son) has been assisting with behind the scenes work for many years - filling the gas bottles was his job as a young teen. Peter came to work for us full-time in 2011 when his father's health deteriorated, and we needed a little extra help. Now maintaining our large number of tender outboard motors is one of Peter's main tasks. Peter is extremely conscientious, always diligently discharging his duties. Just as quick with a joke as he is with his fiery nature, the perfect way to stir Pete up is to remind him how much he looks like his dad!

Rebecca – Meet 'n' Greet
Bec is first point of contact at the marina when you arrive for your adventure, her friendly nature whilst assisting you with the paperwork will welcome you aboard. Since Bec joined our team, Mark (Captain Chatterbox) has been given a run for his money in the race for the most talkative! Though not family by blood, Bec has been a part of the family her entire life with her father being best friends with Rob since primary school. Like father, like daughter – that love of chocolate just cannot be disguised!

Mark - The Story Teller
Mark, originally from Tasmania, grew up diving for abalone so boating has been a huge part of his family life and upbringing. Mark first came to our attention as a captain of one of the local cruise boats. This experience gave him the opportunity to learn much of our local river history. His wealth of knowledge and experience in boating is perfect for the role of briefing guests on the houseboats and the river. Not only will Mark teach you everything you need to know to captain your own cruise, but he will also more than likely share a tale or two. We don’t call him Captain Chatterbox for nothing!

Barry – Servicing Team Leader
Barry is the newest addition to our team and would you believe…another family member! Barry, originally an air-conditioning technician and a jack of all trades, has an excellent work ethic. With the help of Barry, we have already improved efficiency in our team operations. You will frequently see Barry wielding a hose to ensure that everything is spick and span in preparation for your arrival!

Mawai – Guest Services
Our wonderful laundry lady from across the ditch! Mawai is responsible for the never-ending cycle of sheets and linen to wash, dry and iron ensuring your stay is as clean and comfortable as possible. Mawai is also one of our head servicing team members so be sure to say g’day to her when you are disembarking from your adventure! Always smiling and happy, Mawai is very much a big part of our family!

Services Team
Our turnaround days can be a busy time on the marina with not only the main staff above, but up to 15 other staff members working to prepare the houseboats for your enjoyment – from scrubbing decks to cleaning windows our team work hard to prepare for your boarding. With some of our cleaning staff having worked with us for nearly 10 years, we truly are one big family team.
